Do spiral ducts help to minimize noise?

Many times the users complain of noises coming of their ducts. The noise is mainly generated by reverberation due to pressure difference in the rectangular duct. Moreover, the typical design of rectangular ducts result in the air moving around sharp edges, dampers, and turning blades. These often pose obstruction which cause noisy disturbances. In spiral ducts sharp edges are very few as a result you will not see such noisy turbulences.
